بِسْــــــــــــــــــــــمِ اﷲِارَّحْمَنِ ارَّحِيم
السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته- I invite you to follow me on social network FaceBook HERE
Welcome
Welcome to Sabr & Shukr. This blog follows our family’s efforts to live a faithful and simple life, laugh more, get organized, enjoy good food together, live more sustainably, explore eco-friendly alternatives, save money, discover the freedom of learning through living , and most importantly — working towards taqwa.
Many of you know me from my cooking blog, Simplicity of my table by the sea. Blogging there over the years has been very therapeutic and rewarding .... so as my life has evolved I thought to share insights of how we try to live simply, naturally, mindfully and intentionally.
Simple Living Goals
We only get a finite number of minutes on this earth. Among the attributes essential for man’s spiritual as well as worldly progress and prosperity are Sabr (patience) and Shukr (gratitude).
“We shall certainly test you by means of some fear, poverty, loss of wealth and life. And, give glad tidings (of thawaab) to those who adopt Sabr (in the face of these calamities).
(Surah Baqarah)
If you could better manage your time and focus on your true priorities, what would that look like for you? I’d love to hear about your experiences, ideas and revelations. Does the idea of simplicity appeal to you, too? Perhaps you’d like to have more peace in your home, and more time to enjoy your loved ones. Maybe you yearn for sustainable living, getting back to the basics, living more frugally, or having more unstructured time to create, think, recharge your batteries and relax. If so, then stay tuned for more ...
